Master Debater

The first Presidential Debate occurred last night.  I was only able to catch the last half of it but after the smoke cleared it was pretty clear to most people, including myself, that John Kerry came out on top.

Kerry was calm, collected, intelligent and aggressive.  He met every one of Jim Lehrer's questions with well-formed answers.  More importantly, every challenge George W. Bush issued Kerry was easily tossed aside like used chewing gum.  Despite most people's (biased) opinion of John Kerry being out-of-touch or elitist, he proved to be a brilliant and well-spoken man at the podium.

Bush, on the other hand...The hamster fell off the wheel.  He stuttered, he stammered, he paused, he stared, he glared, he lied.  George W. Bush repeated the words "flip flop", "weapons of mass destruction", and "uh" over and over.  It seemed like last night was painful and unnecessary for him.  There were a few highlights, however:

Kerry: "when we went in [Iraq], there were three countries: Great Britain, Australia and the United States. That's not a grand coalition. We can do better."

Bush: "Well, actually, you forgot Poland." -Wow!  Don't forget Poland! ...and their 10 soldiers.  No offense Poland. Update: Poland is removing their troops.

Kerry: "In answer to [Jim Lehrer's] question about Iraq and sending people into Iraq, [President Bush] just said the enemy attacked us. Saddam Hussein didn't attack us; Osama bin Laden attacked us. Al Qaeda attacked us."

Bush: "...of course I know Osama bin Laden attacked us. I know that." -You would have to have heard this clip to realize how dumb this sounded.

Before last night's debate, I was not totally on Kerry's bandwagon.  I thought of him as "anybody but Bush".  Now, however, after seeing him handle Bush like a lion handles a baby gazelle, I am definitely 100% in favor of the Kerry/Edwards campaign.

My biggest problem with George W. Bush was exhibited last night.  The man is unintelligent...visibly unintelligent.  I could not understand how he lost to Al Gore and I will be totally puzzled if he doesn't lose this year's election.  The leader of the United States should not appear to be dumb!!!

John Kerry for President
If you believe in John Kerry, PLEASE VOTE!  If you still think G.W. Bush has clue, remember this: Foreign affairs is Bush's best issue.  The next two debates are about different topics and will be dominated by Kerry.  You will be hard pressed to find reasons this man should be re-elected.

I wasn't able to catch the debate...because I was playing video games. I plan on voting for Kerry because I see him as you orginally saw him...the lesser of two evils. I still don't believe in politicans or anything the say or promise but I do think that four more years of Bush isn't what America needs.
