Not Really an Update

I thought I should post something since I haven't in almost a month.  Despite this thought, nothing has really happened or changed in that time to warrant an update.  This leaves me in a quandry as to stop typing altogether or continue and make something up as I go.  Of course I could just comment on random things like I do in every other post. ;^)

Do yourself a favor and download FireFox.  FireFox is a truly superior browser to the so-called winner of the browser wars, Microsoft's Internet Explorer.  The browser itself is more standards compliant than IE not to mention the fact it alrealdy includes Google searching, tabbed browsing, and pop-up blocking.  Now, the tabbed browsing I didn't get for awhile.  I've always pressed the Shift key while clicking on links to keep the referring page available.  The tabs, however, keep them all in the same window and by pressing Ctrl-Shift during a click, the tab loads that page in the background while I continue to view the current page. 

I've made FireFox my default browser at work and don't miss IE one bit.  I do have to use Internet Explorer for those rare pages and applications that depend on Microsoft's "customizations" to the web.  Fortunately, that is a small population and easy to live without.  Get FireFox!  Make sure to checkout thier e-mail client, Thunderbird.  It's only up to version 0.9, I think, but it's still pretty slick. 

I hope you had a good Thanksgiving holiday and are pacing yourself when it comes to X-mas.  I, for one, hate the fact that the world (or at least the United States) switches into Christmas mode immediately after Halloween.  What happened to fall/autumn/November!  I like X-mas and all, but it's hard for me to not get annoyed with it thrown in my face almost two months in advance via every advertisement or radio station around.  I remember when Thanksgiving and X-mas were times to spend with family...now they're reasons to spend the 30 days beforehand at the malls trying to read your friends and relatives' minds and not end up in the poor house. 

Maybe I'm just bitter because there's hardly any snow on the ground and it's December already.  In my opinion, without snow, it's not winter.
