Welcome to 2005!  Are you prepared for 2 or 3 months of writing the wrong year on your checks?  What about the impending joy that is doing your taxes?  How are you doing on your resolutions? 

As of today, I am told my family will be able to close on and move into our newly built home near the end of the month.  I am anxious to do so as living in someone else's basement kinda makes you feel like you're...living in a basement.  Despite the "joys" of moving all of our possessions in the blustery winds of January, I am thrilled with the prospect of living in my own home.  My college days guided me out of my "boyhood" home in 1997 and ever since then I've been afraid to put a nail in the wall in fear of throwing away my security deposit.  In my new home, I'll be able to nail and screw all sorts of things.  ;^)

Even though my house isn't huge or expensive it is completely new and that's a-okay with me.
