Ranch Popcorn Powder

On sunday, my wife, her sister, her husband and I went to a couple movies.  Grandma & Grandpa took my son and their son so we could enjoy an afternoon at the cinema since it's hard to find time to go with an incredibly active 18 month old.  Since we hadn't been to a movie since the last time I talked about one, we went to both Meet the Fockers and National Treasure.

No picture today.
How do you like that?
I liked Meet the Parents when I saw it on DVD (I think).  Ben Stiller is quite funny and is only better when teamed up with Owen Wilson (see Starsky & Hutch).  Robert DeNero plays a convincing asshole father-in-law and near the middle the this movie, I wanted to smack him in the back of the head with a 2x4.  Ben's character's parents, played by Dustin Hoffman and Barbara Streisand (?), were hillarious as the complete opposites of the other in-laws.  Because of them, I would have to say the sequel out did the original.  Go see it.

National Treasue was actually better than I thought it would be.  The whole time, though, I kept waiting for Lara Croft to show up as the pacing and dialog is very similar to the Tomb Raider movies.  In fact, you could probably replace Nicolas Cage with Angelina Jolie fairly easy and have a much more pleasant movie.  Regardless, the plot was rather thought out but for someone who plays adventure games and the like, I would have liked the movie to not be entirely predictable.  Maybe it's because I have seen too many movies or the gaming skills but I like a movie to be a bit more of a challenge to figure out.  Anyway, National Treasure == good movie.

Only 20 days until we close on our house.  ...or 1728000 seconds.  Doesn't seem long, huh?

Oh, and World of Warcraft is cool.  ;^)
