Muddy Shoes
Yowza. It's been almost a month since the last posting. A lot of things have happened since then, but they all pretty much revolved around moving into our new home. Practically everything has been unpacked and we're slowly filling up empty floor and wall spaces with tables and frames. Yesterday, I installed our mailbox. This afternoon, I'll be shopping for furnace filters. On Thursday, the kitchen countertop is resurfaced. After that there'll only be the small matter of painting the outside of the house and drying out the industrial mudslide that is our "lawn". :^)I happened to see Ocean's 12 on Sunday. It was a superior film compared to the first one. I spent most of it confused as to what exactly was going on which, in itself, is the best thing a movie can do. A story that holds your hand all the way through is good for the like of Mary Poppins but makes an adult film insulting. This film did not insult me.
Yesterday was Valentine's day so I guess I'll just stop and say Imy wife. Make whatever jokes you want about women in general, but having a great one nearby makes life a lot more enjoyable. I'm glad she's there for me so I can be there for her.
Star Trek: Enterprise has apparently been canceled after only four years. I'm not surprised really. When they started the very first episode with some guy singing the theme everyone just made that inverted breathing noise you make when watching someone inadvertently injure themselves.
I can't say I feel one way or the other about it, however. The show's premise had so much promise (sorry) and the last season has actually been very good. Unfortunately, it was cursed the same way Voyager was...the Berman & Braga production crew took the goodwill earned by TNG and DS9 and wagered it all on a pair of boobs (Jeri Ryan and Jolene Blalock). These two thought Star Trek fans wanted shiny knockers and empty characters instead of decent storytelling and are the same "nemesis" that allowed the horrible Star Trek 10 to break the "even ones are great" tradition of the Trek Movies. No one knows if Star Trek will ever come back despite rumors of another Star Trek movie cast with unknown characters (huh?). Honestly, I think it's time Paramount put the sword back in the stone until someone more deserving can wield it.
In other nerdy news, Nintendo is supposed to reveal its "Revolution" system at the E3 in May. I'm hoping this is Nintendo's year and whatever they have under that white cloth blows everyone away and, more importantly, ships with a new Mario game! The new Zelda for GameCube is supposed to be available shortly thereafter (according to ign.com anyway). There's a lot riding on this year for Nintendo. They need to make the DS more of a hit with some bitchin' games like Wario Ware Touched.

- Jake I found a good site that offers custom size furnace filters. I know this is a older post but I thought about it since I bought from this site today and ran accross your post. http://www.filters-now.com/
