Squirrelmail 1.4.6

I just finished setting up the newest version of Squirrelmail as Spolem Mail and I'm hoping it works better than the Release Candidate we were using.  Squirrelmail is a decent webmail application but I'm worried that it's becoming stale.  There hasn't been a new release since February.  Also, the creators don't seem to be creating a new version that is a bit more modern in design and appearance.  I would like to see a 2.0 with more CSS, XHTML and JavaScript.

Until that happens I've been trying to find a better webmail program.  Since my webhost doesn't allow any sort of shell access, my options are limited.  RoundCube Webmail is probably the best of what I've found and would be an excellent replacement for Squirrelmail...if there were more options.  Squirrelmail has tons of plugins so you can configure it anyway you want.  RoundCube is still in beta so the software isn't even "finished" yet.  This makes it tough to compare features.  It is very slick, however, and I'll keep watching it as long as they keep working on it.  I'm hoping that happens since it, too, has not had a release since February.
