December 26th

Howdy. 

How did you make out for X-mas?  I received a nice haul of things from Thinkgeek.com collected by my lovely wife as well as a great deal of other things from my extended family.  My son received the Star Wars treatment from Santa Claus.  He has probably tripled his collection of action figures not to mention the Star Wars Lego sets we'll be assembling and DVDs we'll be watching over the next few days. 

I can remember years ago being unable to fall asleep knowing Santa was coming in a matter of hours.  It's a real trip to see that same excitement your little boy's face when X-mas is here.  I think this was the first year he's really had a grasp on what was going to happen and he was swept up in it.  He told "Santa" his wish list despite being scared to death of sitting in his lap and nervously counted the days until the big night.  Each wave of presents from Dec. 24th until the last gathering on the 25th were each met with a furious scramble of fingers on wrapping paper, eyes glowing with joy and excited shouts of approval.  It is a funny feeling to behold those experiences and find oneself smiling from the inside out.  I'm fortunate. :^)
