I have a folder on the desktop of all of my Windows PCs named "NewStuff". That folder is where I put all of the NewStuff I download from the Internets. From time to time I have to clean out all of that Stuff and last weekend I found this RAR full of MIDIs. I found this file so I could put ringtones on my phone but wound up putting video game tones on it instead.
Since I had nothing better to do than clean up my NewStuff folder, I opened up the RAR file and started listening to some of the several thousand MIDIs of "popular" music. I was trying to find 500 Miles by The Proclaimers but thought the song was called 1000 Miles. I did find it eventually and found myself curious about the band. Of course, I read about them on Wikipedia. My eyes zeroed in the name "David Tennant" linked lower in the article. As a Doctor Who fan (as of the new series anyway), I was interested. This part gets fuzzy but I wound up finding this on YouTube: (Ignore the frame shown below...the movie is better than that looks.)
I learned two things from this little adventure. It's amazing how much the mind wanders with help of the Internets and where you can end up. Secondly, I'm not having as much fun as these people in the video above. *jealous*
