Bad Business
To: President Already-Checked-Out,
CC: Congress of Cowards including Mr. Obama & Mr. McCainWe don't need a bailout. We don't want a bailout. Our current financial crisis is a direct result of your cowboy leadership and the desire to put business in charge of themselves. You opened the door on the chicken coop and seem to be shocked the fox helped himself to the flock.
Your Republican allies, and the pundits who love them, want to blame the crappy economy on a "Democrat controlled congress" but you seem to forget they've only been in charge for less than 2 years. The first 6 years of your
reign of terrorpresidency saw Republican control of 66% of the government. Now that things are falling apart, the blame falls on the Democrats who have an incredible 51 to 49 majority in the senate and a 235 to 199 majority in the house. Granted the Democrats haven't done much to be proud of, they were way late to the deregulation parties your buddies were throwing. Plus, you Democrats should be ashamed of yourselves for voting for the frickin' bailout after Bush popped on TV Monday morning and begged to get it passed. If anything would cry "this is a bad idea", that should do it.The Republican representatives popped out after the vote and cried that they were insulted by Nancy Pelosi so they didn't vote for the bailout. You know why they really didn't do it? Because they got so many e-mails, phone calls and letters from their constituents saying, "Vote this bill down or we'll vote you down when your term is up."
A lot of people believe that the companies and executives who caused their own problems should have to live with the consequences instead of receiving a nice severance package from the U.S. Taxpayer. Yeah, this isn't a letter anymore but I'm pretty sure President Internets doesn't read blogs, much less anything else. I'll be watching how my representatives vote, though. Whoever votes for the bailout won't be getting my vote next time they need it...and I don't care if they're running against a turd sandwich.
