My observations of the final presidential debate while watching on YouTube. 

5 min - Joe the Plumber

God, this is dumb.

10 min - Visual impressions of the candidates.

• Obama: Smooth, intellectual, calm
• McCain: Cocky, smug, arrogant

21 min - Siezure?

McCain makes some stupid jumpy-goof move when Obama mentions Fox News debunking one of McCain's accusations towards Obama.

24 min - Waaaaaaa!

McCain says his campaign wouldn't be so negative if Obama just agreed to his precious "town hall meetings." Right...

31 min - Frustration

Obama makes a noise showing his frustration with talking with McCain.  John keeps driving the train off the track and away from the topic on hand.

37 min - Unbelievable

McCain says they need to keep the topic on domestic policy but keeps bringing up the Ayers thing.  Obama, very frankly, described the whole thing and McCain basically calls him a liar and spouts off things Obama says is false.  When Republicans (Limbaugh, O'Riley, Bush, etc.) say completely false things about Democrats on the air that people remember on voting day, it makes me sick.  Even if they put out a I'm sorry the damage is done and nothing happens.  If a newspaper put out a headline/article completely false about someone, they'd get sued even with the retraction on page 24.

41 min - Palin

"She'll fight the ol' boy network." Isn't McCain part of that network?  He talks about the failures of the Congress but no one remembers he's been there for like 40 years...

46 min - My ears!

I'm not sure what it's called, but McCain's trailing "s" is killing me.  I'm surprised he's not surrounded by howling dogs when he speaks.

49 min - Smug

Watch as McCain fills up with giddyness while listening to Obama.  Then he says how important words are.  Remember "the fundamentals of the economy are strong"?  Then, after the economy "cratered" he says he meant "the workers".  Anyone believe that?  Really?

51 min - Is he 12?

Watch his eyebrows go up to his (very high) hairline as Obama talks.  Tact, anyone?  Obama has cracked smiles from McCain's accusations but McCain's tact could fit in a thimble with room left over for a sad elephant.

1:25 - Final Impressions

Again, McCain shows he's a cocky punk.  Spends more time laughing and ridiculing than explaining his own policies and ideas.

McCain used to be someone I could respect and put into the Oval Office.  Neither one of those is true today.  He's somehow inherited the same smugness and low respect for everyone that W shows at every press conference.  I don't know how he can say with a straight face that he's not going to follow in his footsteps. 

We need someone who's intelligent, calm and respectful of even people who disagree with their opinions.  For once...
